Quinn Zeljak (1998, Venlo) is an artist, writer and researcher primarily concerned with the intersection of disability studies and art. Her work aims to move away from a medical model of disability and establish her own body as a site of knowledge, norms and values.
She is currently involved in a research project about disability and the post-apocalypse. Through textile pieces, performances and poetry, she unpicks the antagonistic relationship between bodies and their surroundings. Her work explores tensions about productivity, purpose and whatever her body is “supposed to be”. She currently lives and works in Rotterdam, preferably from the comfort of her own bed or couch.
She has a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Maastricht Institute of Arts and (almost) a master’s degree in Artistic Research from the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague.
